There are also many other fine routers which also can/do run Linux, such as some of NetGear's routers which also include a USB port (so you can make wireless printing, audio and what-not). Check out the compatibility lists at [ http://www.openwrt.org ].

If the fancier routers are more expensive, you can consider purchasing them from abroad. I did so with my Linksys WRT54G, but it took me some eBaying to find a seller who's willing to violate Linksys' US-only regulations :)
