I found that none of the above software packages are available for
Debian Sarge.
Even Debian Testing (Etch) does not have yet KDE 3.5.
So it seems that I'll have to wait until KDE 3.5 makes it into Debian
Testing and then install it and kat also in my Debian Sarge system.
(Today there seems to be a problem with GPG signatures of Debian Testing
packages.)
