Hi Greg,

I came across your email from google when I was seeing if I could mount a Solaris UFS volume on a Linux machine in READ only mode for backup.

1. We are using StoreAge virtualization, and a FastT 600. Customer has three SUN solaris machines.

2. We are using StoreAge virtualization, we need to snapshot a coupld of volumes and mount o the Linux machine, run FSCK and use the VIEW for pushing data to the tape drive.

This is just for LAN Free backup.

Later however we will have to restore etc. So will it work ?

I saw that you were using "out of band" virtualization, my guess was that its StoreAge right ? Please advice if you have time, we are in the middle of the installtion, but do not have a spare SUN server to use for backups.

Warm regards
Chalam
