In two schools in Modiin there are going to be fund-raising fairs in the coming weeks. The first will be on 25th November.
The idea is that parents and/or various vendors sell their goods at some relatively low price and the income goes to the school to cover various expenses. I would like to be able to sell FOSS CDs and by this both raise money for the schools and advance FOSS. The target audience is partially the children and partially their parents. I would like to be able to 2 different things: - CDs with Open Source applications running on Windows - Live CDs to run Linux/*BSD without installation (preferable such that can be also installed) Regarding the Software on the Windows CD I belive having many games will get the attention of the kids along with OO, Gimp, FireFox and other such apps. For this I would like to ask you urgent help in putting together a list of applications and games that are of 1) Good quality 2) Open Source 3) Runs on Windows 4) Preferably have Hebrew version In order to make it easier to collect the list of apps and organize them in a reasonable hierarchy I created a wiki page. http://wiki.perl.org.il/index.php/FOSS_on_Windows (Shlomi I hope it ok to abuse the Perl wiki for this. I had no better idea which wiki to use.) Please update it with you ideas or discuss them here but do it ASAP. AFAIK in 3-4 days we have to finalize the list in order make the dead-line.
