a. pptp is a generic way to tunnel ppp over IP. You can plug in
encryption. Why tunnel it on top of ssh?

b. tunneling on top of TCP is generally a bad idea

c. pptp has only the control connection on tcp port 1723. The data goes
as GRE packets, IIRC.

Are you sure you did not mean ppp over ssh? Still, there are better ways
to make a VPN that will actually perform resonably.

Is the encryption of the data actually a requirement here?
