I cut down your message, or rather the quotes from older messages to the minimum. these messages have become really too long. 1-Thanks. 2-I think there is a misunderstanding: Unless told otherwise, LaTeX will typeset text found in the source on adjacent lines on the same line. As the original material was not written with that in mind, that will result in a dvi file that is hard to read. The "sed doublespacing" just introduces an empty line between every two lines, thus preserving, for this stage of the work, the structure of the initial document. This should be changed in an interactive second stage to reflect the paragraph structure, as requred for a good presentation. This has nothing to to with double spacing in the printed document. 3-I keep that for the future. For the moment, due to high load I confine myself to the initial task of the exercize. Otherwise I spread too thin. 4-Because I just copy-pasted the header of the present document. Of course, if you do not include German text, you do not need that. 5-Do you know a good text on LaTeX2e in Hebrew? I took that from a mail or HOWTO, somewhere about using LaTeX with Hebrew. As it worked, I did not try further. But now I'll try to comment that out. Thanks. Cheers, Avraham
