Hi Ilya,
If you check out the bottom of Miguel's homepage you start
understanding where he stands in the palestinian - Israeli conflict
(although I generally read his blog for linux/gnome related stuff the
ei (electric intifada) links where pretty interesting as well.

Seeing that link, it's obvious now why he fears that in Israel foreign citizens get arested for no cause - the border police have in their bag several cases of detaining visitors just for being leftists (um... I mean... troublemakers. Of course. You misheard me the first time... please don't arrest me too). Fortunately he does not look like a blond woman with a Ukrainian accent - that is a sure deportation.

And regarding the lebenese lug ...
If indeed the future will be shiny ( ;) ) maybe we can plan joint LUG
meeting with the Hizbullug !

By the way, when he first mentioned touring Turkey and the Middle East,
I've contacted him about the possibility of him visiting Israel. I had
to alleviate worries he had about Israel being some kind of police
state, where foreign citizens are detained for no reason etc. but
eventually he still preferred to visit Lebannon this time (quite a hot
time of the year in Lebanon, that's for sure) since he read a book about
the country which got him very interested. I guess he has no excuse to
skip Israel on his next visit :)
