We are looking for trainers for various Open Source technologies.
Background
----------
Some of you might know me. Besides trying to herd the Israeli Perl Mongers I am also running a small training company called Perl Training Israel. http://www.pti.co.il/
I used to focus on teaching Perl at various levels.
A couple of months ago I started to promote and sell PHP courses
taught by Ori Idan whom you might also know from HaMakor. Seeing the interest I decided to start to offer courses in other Open Source technologies too. So from now on we are also providing courses in
* Open Office (Shoshannah Forbes) * Software Development in C on Linux (Ori Idan) * Subversion (usage and administration) (Gabor Szabo) * PHP and MySQL (Ori Idan) * Perl (Gabor Szabo)
At a later point we will probably also have to change the name of
the company to reflect this broader offering, but this is another story[1].
The issue ---------
To further broaden our offerings we are looking for people who are going to become free-lance trainers through PTI.
The fields we are interested in are:
* Linux for Users * Linux/BSD System Administration * Kernel and Device Driver Programming * Firewall in Linux * Python Programming * Tcl/Tk Programming * MySQL administration * PostgreSQL administration
.. just to name a few.
In addition if you are familiar with an interesting Open Source technology such as (the Microsoft) Windows Installer XML (WiX) we would be glad to add that too to our training offerings.
We are looking for enthusiastic people who are also involved in the
community of the given technology. It is best if you have some proven record of being a good teacher but we'll accept if you prove it to us.
As we are looking for free-lancers we'll accept also students of a
higher education institute, provided you can commit to a schedule
of training sessions.
Requirements: * Thorough knowledge in the chosen technology * Participation in the Open Source/Free Software community
* Fluent Hebrew * Experience speaking to technical audiences in Hebrew
* Fluent written English * Be able to prepare training materials in English
* Independent, creative thinker * Strong ethic of customer service
Desirable: * Experience in other "competing" Open Source technologies * Knowledge of at least one of the high-level "scripting" languages * Experience in System Administration
These are free-lance positions that can also fit very well to people who otherwise provide consulting or development services in the given technologies.
While we are located in Modiin the majority of classes take place in Gush Dan with occasional classes in other regions such as Haifa and Jerusalem.
