I recently purchased an MP3 pendrive that support recording. It records to the ACT file format. Does anyone know what is it, is it supported with linux etc.
Oddly google doesn't help as the verb "act" is in almost every website on any topic in this universe...

Thanks

The Google query:

pendrive "act extension" recording

brought me one result:

http://www.corporatekey.com/support/MP4N1-support.html

On this page, they provide a utility to convert their .ACT format to .WAV. Not surprisingly, this is a Windows program installation. I've installed it with WINE (no Windows copy) and it gave me a directory Program Files/MP3 Player Tools with a few command line utilities to convert between their format and .WAV. Those are console utilities and I assume you can run them with WINE easily, without a Windows installation.

As for a more open solution solution, I don't know if one exists. This .ACT thing is a proprietary file format and I doubt it's popular enough for someone to take the time to reverse engineer it.
