There's a patch there for 2.6.10-rc3 that applies cleanly. If everything 
worked for you on 2.6.9, it should work just as well (or better) on 2.6.10. 
Unfortunately, this is not the case for me - since 2.6.9 the swsusp started 
becoming unstable (which is just as well, as both 2.6.9 and 2.6.10 have 
problems with my audio card alsa drivers).

Search for bootsplash 2.6.10 patch on google to get clues on where to get it 
(it's one of the distribution's kernel srpm). If you give up, mail me and 
I'll send it to you. 
Don't forget to modify the 'apply' script of swsusp to enable support in 
bootsplash (it's not on by default).
