just to share with other opressed linux users who are forced to use an exchange server:
i work in a place where there's only an echange server, used for e-mail and for calendars management, and the exchange server's POP service for disabled for silly reasons. after a month of using win2K for a workstation, i decided to install linux (fedora core 3) and check evolution's now-open-source exchange plugin. it works, both for e-mail, and for viewing the calendar, accepting meetings and even accessing the address book. all i needed to do was choose 'exchange' server when creating a new e-mail account in evolution, and ansewr the various questions. it seems to use the web-interface in order to access e-mail, so you'll have to know the URL you use to access exchange from the web (which is what i did until now - this works even from firefox). i also filled in IP addresses instead of host names, since i don't know what's the host name of the exchange server ;) (to recap for people who didn't follow on this: novell bought evolution's maker, ximian, and turned their exchange plugin into open-source software). if anyone decides to try this and has any problem, i might be able to help. -- guy "For world domination - press 1, or dial 0, and please hold, for the creator." -- nob o. dy ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
