Hi shachar,
First of all I do not want to spam anyone, it's one of the required
steps I need to do to setup the group in linkedin.

But if you are going to live up to these requirement, I consider it a price the list has to pay. I want to know what does this price buy the list.

1. Consultant hunt.
In that way he finds that a freelance consultent hosting a company
named GNULIN has the skillset he's looking for .

What's wrong with http://www.google.com/search?q=gnulin

The VP then contacts the consultant and they live happily forever in a
bidi heaven :).

And this serves the general list's interests.... how?
I'm sorry. I don't doubt that some list members have a lot to gain from this. I don't even rule out the possibility that I may be one of them. I just don't think the list should be spammed, and people's emails given away, for this noble cause.

2. Member job hunt.
OK so we post job offers in the list but I know that I have disliked
list members posting stuff as. "hmm hey I'm looking forwork and I can
debug kernel oops with perl using python while witholding scsi cable
abuse..."
In this form You can simply play with the settings of you're profile
and label you're self with a "looking for a job offer"

And this is different than from http://haifux.org/jobs.html ... how?

Those are the IGLU tailored ones - beyond that there is the the normal
marketing mish mash that linkedin presents that can be viewed here...
www.linkedingroups.com/groupspdf/Linkedin_for_groups.pdf

Please, not more tons of text to read. This stuff is useful only if people use it. So far, the evidence doesn't suggest people do.

I believe that everybody holding a linux oriented job could possibly
benefit be it project job or business aquiantence they look ok
protecting privacy.

But Linux-IL is a community resource, not a business one. I vote - drop it.

I'm happy and proud to be a part of IGLU all I want to do is to
communicate to the world which will need my services one day -
"This is IGLU it's an excellent place to find great developers,
creative innovators and non existing cabals" if you know somebody that
knows me and I'm _willing_ (profile attribute) to listen feel free to
contact me through one of my contacts.

I'm very proud of being a part of IGLU. I'm not so sure about being a part of LinkedIn. I didn't particularly liked it when Gabor gave them my email address, and I find the idea that we give them email addresses in bulk appalling. Sorry, I still vote no.

Hope this explains my motivation.
Lior.
