Hi, Some bits of info: I have A80 (I assume the interface should be the same for A85) - it doesn't work directly, you can't mount it. BTW: as far as I know the same is with Windows - you need to install a driver to use it.... But GTKAM supports it, so you can browse the pictures / video and download them using this app. There is a deprecated gnome-vfs module in that app, if it is ever reinstated you'll be able to browse the pictures through nautilus... Personally I would consider A85 advantages over A80. A strong disadvantage I'm aware of: the LCD screen is statically embedded into the camera (whereas in A80 it can be turned in almost any direction).
Thanks, Gregory. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Noam Meltzer Sent: Sunday, December 05, 2004 12:34 AM To: Linux-IL mailing list Subject: conclusion :-) (was: Re: Canon A85 digital camera and Linux) Well, 10x for those who answered. It seems like I have no worries about linux support if I buy that camera. Seems like unlike their printers, Canon's digital cameras has no problem working with linux. -- Noam Meltzer ================================================================To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
