I experienced lockups also in RH 8.0, but only when running Mozilla (used for Web browsing and E-mail). Now, I use Mozilla only for Web browsing, and evolution for E-mail (and evolution opens epiphany when I click on a link). And they were relatively rare (once per several days). > you could also run memtest+ overnight and see if it finds anything. > after that I have little CPU burn-in proggie you can try as well. I ran memtest for 55 minutes (not representative test, true), exhibited no problems. I suppose I should overclock my CPU just a bit while running memtest, to expose any weaknesses. Where can I find that "little CPU burn-in proggie"? My purpose in asking the mailing list was mainly to find if anyone knows about any issue with 2.6.8, which could cause lockup. From the responses so far, this seems not to be the case. --- Omer -- My own blog is at http://www.livejournal.com/users/tddpirate/ My opinions, as expressed in this E-mail message, are mine alone.
