Debian Testing, fairly recent (today I upgraded packages).

He... testing is old you know :)

Unless you have time to handle possible bugs all day. I used to be on "unstable" but was hit with fresh bugs from time to time, even using apt-listbugs, the versions in unstable are too new to get their bug reports in. I can't recall having my system broken since I "downgraded" to testing, and I upgrade packages almost every weekend.

P.S.: Believe it or not, but the ability to utilize RSS feeds was the
"killer application", which compelled me to switch from RH8.0 to Debian
Testing.

You shuold try kmail/kontact :)

Thunderbird is great at it too. Only gripe I have with it is that it doesn't follow links in-window and there is no way to get subscribed articles (yet, they are aware of this problem).

As for the original question - use Thunderbird. It has nice direction
support (ALT-CTRL-X in latest version on testting).
