Hi all,
when I start ftp service with the command ftpd -D I get full service.
Trying to lunch ftpd from xinetd results in the client failure with the message:
421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection
As I looked in the manual pages I noticed that on xinetd.conf you can restrict hosts clients using the directive:
only_from
I defined therefore only_from in /etc/xinetd.conf to: only_from = 10.0.0. harellaptop
That did not work.
Please note that tcpd is not playing any role in this setup (I double checked).
My machine: HP omnibook 6000 running Gentoo fully updated with kernel 2.4.26-gentoo-r9. xinetd is of version 2.3.13 libwrap loadavg ftpd is from Gentoo emerge of the package net-ftp/ftpd version 0.17-r1
-- Thanks.
