Actually, no. Bidiv autodectects ISO-8859-8 and UTF-8 on input automatically
(this is done on a character-by-character basis, and note it only works for
Hebrew/ASCII), and outputs either UTF8 or ISO depending on your locale.

But - when bidiv outputs UTF8, it outputs "visual order utf8" - something
which is only useful when your reader understands UTF8 but does NOT do bidi
(less and vim are examples of this). If your viewer does bidi, you don't
need bidiv at all - try "cat" (or iconv, if you want to view iso-8859-8-i
messages).
