Perhaps the card autodetection didn't work well (it happens to me with the FlyVideo II). You should load the bttv module with the option card=54 for FlyVideo 2000 and with card=65 for FlyVideo 2000s (the full list is in the kernel documentation: Documentation/video4linux/CARDLIST.bttv.gz)
