I'm not sure it is `lighter' than X, I thing it needs more resources
(It is both the X client AND server). It really depends on the window
manager you use (I use `twm', which is really light, with VNC).
It is lighter on client load, and somewhat on network load. These are
the major factors that come into play in my setup.
