For those who are too lazy to use such a lengthy procedure, I'd
recommend to try Mondo Rescue: http://MondoRescue.org/

It can greatly help automatig the backup and recovery procedures (at
least: the recovery of the system, rather than the data). And as a bonus
the recovery CD includes a fully-functioning tetris game.
