I used to run it (earlier versions)  of my local IMAP server with no problems, 
but in this particular case it's  at my Hosting service. I'm trying to get 
this info and traces if possible so I can open a bug with KMail.

Checked KMail but it doesn't have any thing confgiurable (in the GUI) to 
restrict connection. I'll have to look around. Thanks for the tip.
