Hi, I have an updated Mandrake 9.2 installed on my computer. The computer is PentiumIII with 256 M of ram, and 1.3 G of swap (512M on the main HD, and about 800M on a dedicated old hard drive). The system have been working perfectly, up untill today. For some reasons, when doing certain (but not all) actions on the net, using konqueror, I end with no free memory what so ever. One thing that always reproduces this behaviour is pressing the search button in google. When doing this, the free memory (as monitored by ksim) drops from ~200M to 16M and free swap memory drops from ~1150M to 12M and then becomes pretty unusable. I can press Ctr-Alt-BkSps to kill X and after about 10 minutes I get my computer back. Another odd thing is that this problem exists only for one user account. Due to the problems with the list, I couldn't send this message to the list for couple of days, so I just created a brand new user account and deleted the old one, but I still want to know what the hell was the problem. Any ideas will be welcomed. Don't know if this is related, but... I use konqueror to browse my home directory at the work using sftp:// protocol. The problems started after network shutdown at my work.
