I realize that. The no route to host was when trying to conect to other addresses on the 192.168.1.255 network other then 192.168.1.1 that supposedly belongs to the modem and 192.168.1.2 which I gave to my computer. When trying to contact 192.168.1.1 the connection just hangs. I saw the arp reply using tcpdump. As I wrote in the next email, I ran a newer version of nmap against it and found 4 ports closed (using the -P0 switch). Trying to connect to those returns connections refused. Haven't tried connecting a windows machine alone to the modem when it is disconnected from the network yet. I will try that later (requires me to start taking computers off line). > It appears you have some sort of routing table screwup here. > > Shachar > > -- > Shachar Shemesh > Open Source integration & consulting > Home page & resume - http://www.shemesh.biz/ > > > > ================================================================= > To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with > the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command > echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] > ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
