I'm afraid that one lecture will not be enough;
As a veteran X-pert, I estimate the time required to teach how to write
"Hello, world" by 6-10 hours.

Unless you want to show the alternative (i.e. using Xaw, including the
Xt infrastructure) which will add several more hours to the estimation
above.
