Hi list. I remember vaguely that this was discussed in the list in the past, but can't find anything in the archives - When using a mouse with more then 5 buttons, can the extra buttons be mapped to do something useful (besides another scroll axis which I don't find all that useful) ? I was thinking about mapping the buttons to keysyms, so I can get primary clipboard copy/paste, or forward/backword in history a-la IE or something. I tried to look at xmodmap, but as far as I understand it only handles reordering the buttons but not actually mapping them to something else.
