Thanks for the code. by the way what specifications were you using to write this code? from my humble investigations there are a couple of ways to modulate and to encode the callerid. so it makes me wonder if any modem demodulator is compatible with every modulation system.
and as for the modem , unfortunately I do not have an ISA slot, so I'll be needing recommendations regarding where to get PCI (or usb/parallel in worst case) based voice modem that works under Linux.
