OTOH, many people don't know enough english to post. probably a significant number of
them doesn't
post because they afraid they will look bad. also, there are some people who further
go and has
problem understanding the intricacies and multitude of terms in the english language.
I don't see why we should punish these people on their home turf. we should give it a
real thought
and not dismiss it beacause "we" know english "well" and they don't.
I remember we had the same thread several times, and i suggested in one of them
together with
several list members to open linux-heb in a hope that people will use it more.
I think we should check why it hasn't taken off...
my first guess would be that because most (linux users && mailing list users) already
know the
minimal requirements for reading/writing in english and so, they just post, lurk,
search the
archives.
I, however, am not fully convinced at this or doesn't want to believe that linux stops
at the
english speakers and so i have suggested in my previous email to try and merge the two
lists with a
minimal noise to non-hebrew list members.
I hope a solution will be found soon.
