The full truth is also that computer 4 is not connected to 3 currently so we currently switch the cables to the ADSL modem when we need to connect from computer 4. That's too unconvenient so I need either another card or a hub. And I got one hub already...

One smart way to overcome market inertia is selling small adapters for switching the cable type. What surprises me is that nobody seems to produce these for ethernet. I can't imagine a cross/straight adapter costing as much as a cable. And I'm not the only one to change my net setup.
