I sometimes stay on the net on computer 2 while my father is already
sleeping in the room with computer 3. That's a bad arrangement, it's
noisy... The full truth is also that computer 4 is not connected to 3
currently so we currently switch the cables to the ADSL modem when we
need to connect from computer 4. That's too unconvenient so I need
either another card or a hub. And I got one hub already...

Eran already replied; I too believe they are equally simple; besides
their prices are equal so even if there is a difference it can't be
big (or the prices would be affected).

RS-232 already passed through a partial asymmetric->symmetric
conversion phase with Null Modem / Laplink cables. One smart way to
overcome market inertia is selling small adapters for switching the
cable type. What surprises me is that nobody seems to produce these
for ethernet. I can't imagine a cross/straight adapter costing as
much as a cable. And I'm not the only one to change my net setup.
So there should be demand for these...

If I don't hack on it, who will? And if I don't GPL it, what am I?
And if it itches, why not now? [With apologies to Hillel ;]
