Hello people, Those who admin RH9 machines (and the older RH8 machines) surely knows about the problems of installing RPMS and finding few seconds later that the RPM install process has stuck..
Finally Redhat has seen the light and the latest RPM 4.2-1 should fix the problem (the default RPM version which is install with RH9 is 4.2-0.69). You can grab the rpms (don't forget to take most of them - popt, etc.. from the same directory!) from ftp://ftp.rpm.org/pub/rpm/test-4.2/ I have just tested it by replacing 1500 RPMS installation divided to few sessions - works great..
