Borker Tov Kulam, It seems that there are growing reports that the 2.4.21 kernel breaks the IDE DMA on SIS and VIA chipsets. I saw information about it in a couple of forums I regularly visit. I'm not sure how concrete the info is, but I'd suggest that anyone going 2.4.21 do so with caution.
Plus, a large number RedHat9 users reported that there is a noticeable performance loss after upgrading to 2.4.21; RedHat seemed to have done a great job at patching the 2.4.20 kernel to gain better performance.
