Yeah, I run KDE CVS on such a low end machine too (after compiling it with prelinking, disable-debug, enable-final where it's possible) - and that could run... HOWEVER - once you have it running, try to run Open Office on top of it - it's DOG SLOW (I'm talking about MINUTES until it's starting to run)..
