Well, I'm sure few people won't like this email, but here goes...

If you have patience to read a Linux book (like "RedHat Linux Unleashed") - then I
would
suggest to skip RHCE entirely.

Now I'll tell you something like this: In Israel - it's better to learn from the Book
then going to
Sivan/John-Bryce/Whatever-they-called-today.

Why? simple. My brother has offered me to learn RHCE (I wanted it for the certificate)
and I
paid Sivan the money. We learned 2 parts (out of 4), and I'm already waiting SIX
months for
the 3rd and 4th part (it was supposed to begin at May 26th - that date has passed and
still no
sign from Sivan/John-Bryce).

Don't get me wrong - my teacher is Doron Ofek which I think he's a very talented
teacher
(and I do not blame him!), but unfortunately I'm standing now in a position which I
cannot do
much (the only thing I can do right now is to take another course - and I don't feel I
really need
a "web design" or Flash MX course these days..

As for what do you learn: You learn some basic stuff in the 1st part (basic shell
commands,
not something that will make you a script wizard), and in the 2nd part you'll learn
more
commands and configurations.

Be careful - RHCE is MUCH harder then MCSE (if you learned that). With MCSE you get
quite detailed explanation on various issues, where in RHCE a full topic can take
something
like ... 1 page - so you'll need to work a lot at home to do some "catch ups"..

The 3rd and 4th parts are oriented toward server configurations and management, and in
the
4th part you'll learn about clustering (if I recall correctly)

So, to conclude my point: you have 2 options:

* Get a good book (I'm sure many people here can recommend few other books as well -
depends what you really want to learn inside Linux)
* Learn OnLine - there are couple of web sites that would love to give you online
courses (not
in Israel) for RHCE. I don't recommend it that much..

Thanks,
Hetz
