I don't know the exact answers. Hopefully some more general tips might help, although I am somewhat guessing. 1. As root, try dpkg-reconfigure defoma 2. Try looking at /usr/share/doc/msttfcorefonts and /usr/share/doc/defoma/. 3. Ask on debian-user. 4. Wait for someone else to give better answers. In addition, I believe Debian now has fontconfig, or something similar.
