If you haven't noticed yet, a lot of developments and announcements are expected in the following weeks (6 weeks):
1. All the leading distribtions are going to release new versions (RedHat 8.1, Mandrake 9.1, Suse 8.2, etc.). 2. Microsoft, on its side, will not remain static: Windows 2003 Server will be released on the second half of April. This is a very major release for Microsoft, as it marks the official launch of ".NET" technology. 3. VMware 4. From version to version, it becomes a real bridge between Windows and Linux. And don't forget the leapfrog that WINE has done in the last months, partially thanks to CodeWeavers' efforts (Hetz: May we add CrossOver 2 to the list of expected announcements?). 4. Opteron (the "Itanium" of AMD). 5. Don't forget the big Linux conference on Hilton, April 10. Bli Nedder, the first public beta of the Hebrew OpenOffice will be announced and given there, so you can count it too in the list. 6. A war ;-) (i.e. not Microsoft vs. Linux or Intel vs. AMD, but US vs. Iraq...) A hot winter, no doubt. -- Eli Marmor [EMAIL PROTECTED] CTO, Founder Netmask (El-Mar) Internet Technologies Ltd. __________________________________________________________ Tel.: +972-9-766-1020 8 Yad-Harutzim St. Fax.: +972-9-766-1314 P.O.B. 7004 Mobile: +972-50-23-7338 Kfar-Saba 44641, Israel ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
