there are ethernet ports that connect to USB and some are supported in
Linux. there are pptp and ppoe drivers that work for USB ADSL modems,
there are special gizmos that allow two masters (workstations) to be
connected to the same USB address space and exchange info. which of all
of the above are you trying? afaik there is no "standard" way to pass
IP over USB as of yet, PLIP took time to become a standard as well.
