Apparently my post touched a nerve at JobInfo (maybe the fact I "group replied" it to them too had something to do with it, since I doubt they read the linux-il mailing list), and I got an angry call from them demanding an explanation and threatening action against me. So I want to clarify myself and make two things absolutely clear, on the mailing list as well: 1. My post was written in a half-joking, ironic tone (e.g., "round up the posse" - what posse, what am I, the Sheriff??), in response to a whole thread about the issue. I never had any intent of actually doing what I described (recommending to their customers to seek a better HR company), nor was it my intention to tell anyone else to go and do it. I'm a busy guy, and organizing boycotts is the last thing on my mind right now. 2. If it were my intention to go ahead and organize a consumer boycott against JobInfo (and it isn't!!), it would have been well within my consumer rights, and civil liberties, to do so. Hollow threats could not change that fact. I urge JobInfo to forget my silly (and in hind-sight, stupid) post, and instead focus on the issue at hand: a whole group of computer professionals, Unix/Linux/Mac programmers and users, who for one reason or another do not use Microsoft's Internet Explorer, reportedly cannot use your site! This not only means that these people are left out; It also means that the companies (your clients) who are looking for such employees will not get them! I think this should be reason enough for you to clean up that tiny bug that you apparently (according to what people said on the mailing list) have in your user interface. I think you will only benefit from this. -- Nadav Har'El | Monday, Jan 6 2003, 4 Shevat 5763 [EMAIL PROTECTED] |----------------------------------------- Phone: +972-53-245868, ICQ 13349191 |And now for some feedback: http://nadav.harel.org.il |EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
