You're right on with the ljet4 driver. The problem is samba. (It works directly connected..) You need disable cr-lf translation. Look in the smbprint(??) file. The binary data is getting garbled, similar to ftp in ascii mode. It's coincidence that the page is ok (or almost ok) until half way through. I went through the same problem ages ago..
Let me know if you need more specific help. -Cedar > From: Boris Gorelik <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: printing on okipage 14ex via samba > Date: Thu, 2 Jan 2003 15:31:14 +0200 > > Hi all. > I have this annoying problem with printing on okipage 14ex printer via samba. > This is the storry: > > The printer is installed on a windows98 computer and is shared over the LAN. > while there is no problem with printing on this printer from other windows > computers, I couldn't succeed to print from redhat 7.3 linux. > I'm using the LPRng printing system, and I've tried tree drivers: > - ljet4 > the ouput test page is splitted in two, and is very "noisy" i.e it looks > like I'm printing with exhausted toner cartige , and lots of unneeded blank > lines are inserted, which results with splitted page. > > - lj5gray and pxlmono > when printing (anything), the an error output is printed on the > sheet. > > When connecting the printer to Linux machine directly, the output is OK (using > ljet4.
