No, the original poster did not do such a mistake (if it ain't clear enough, I am the original poster). However, Herouth's suggestion to add accept-charset=utf-8 seems promising. I just executed my perl script to recursively fix the problem, and once the mail is read I hope to confirm everything is in order.
