I want to tell you my experience on the subject. I read an ad about this conference (Go-linux 03 22/1/03) and I contact them, offering to give a lecture (I intended to speak on some of the problems and solutions of migrating a legacy system to Linux, from our company experience). They replied by suggesting I (or my company) pay $4000 for the this "pleasure". Since I work for an Insurance agency (the biggest in Israel) and we don't sell software or hardware (although we did some software projects) we don't have any interest in paying. After telling them that we would not pay, they lost all interest. They never asked me any details about my proposed lecture or my experience/knowledge with linux (and I don't think I'll here from them on this subject). So, don't put too much hope on this conference. It will be another "sell" oriented meeting where every lectures MUST sell something to justify the lumpy sum the company pays for this privilege.
