Note:
I've compiled MPlayer on RH8 (gcc-3.2) and had (show-stopper) dvd playing issues.
I've had to revert to my old version on 7.3 (gcc-2.95.3) and the same dvd is played fine.
(this is for the same source version of MPlayer , IIRC it's 0.90pre8 )
The MPlayer docs also says 2.95.x is preferable to 3.x
So if anyone installs MPlayer and has problems try to compile it and all needed libraries
with gcc-2.95.3 .
