Yes, that's exactly why there is now even no possibility to choose charset in 
font selection dialog - only via locale.  Good-bye, russian lyrics in 
karaoke. Good-bye, russian or hebrew names for CD tracks. BTW, what is the 
quickest way to know which locales are supported by glibc and by X?
