David dear,

Libranet is what I hardly call a "friendly" install - it only detects few
hardware devices (try it with GeForce 3, and most of the USB hardware - it
won't detect any of them)..

Libranet 2.7 is another story - but at the moment it costs money and they
haven't proved themselves compared to Mandrake or Red Hat in terms of end
usersness.

This is just like STUPID advices that I hear in many forums and in IRC to
newbies "yeah, go install Debian/Slackware/Gentoo" - I would NOT recommend an
end user who never had any experience in Linux to use those distro's! Start
with Mandrake, SuSE or Red Hat. Want something tougher? go Debian /
Slackware/ Gentoo ONLY if you have someone that is willing to help you
because the thing that you get "spoiled" by the friendlier distribution won't
be on those fully-volunteered based distributions..

What next? give an end user who don't know shit a Solaris 2.5 to install? SCO
Unix maybe?

Thanks,
Hetz
