To use the BIOS supported Hibernation to disk on the T30 you need to create a hibernation file on a FAT16 filesystem. This is nonexistent on this machines that come with NTFS. It only work if you close down X before hibernation, for some reason the Radeon7500 does not recover gracefully from hibernation to ram or disk. I was using T30 and RH7.3.
