I am receiving the real IP from Netvision's
DHCP server. From some reason I can not use
it until I connect to VPN and receive a dummy
IP that I never use..

-- strange indeed, because the ip your interface has is not a
-- real one (10.40.x.x
-- in golden channel's case) therefor its not logical that
-- this is the address
-- other computers recognize you by.
-- what you are saying may be correct only if you connect to a

-- cable company.
-- in all other cases, you will be identified with your real ip.
