I tried it on a real project (we were porting from HP to Linux and it turned out that Linux isn't so forgiving as HP when talking about memory :) It was very helpful!

Version 1.0.0 was released a few days ago: see http://developer.kde.org/~sewardj/ Looks very promising, but I haven't tried it yet in a real project.
