This is not the only commercial version, but other commercial versions
(Volution, Openmail [now owned by Samsung, and renamed]) are not cheaper,
either.

Linux can also run a (yuck?) lotus notes server. Again, not cheap.

This is part of the functionality. You would still need to serve the mail
through imap/pop3 (which is not done by sendmail & co.). If you also
insist: nntp service and LDAP service.

You can setup those services seperately from components available in the
distribtion...
