In the current Debian packages for GNOME 2, there's a majorly annoying crasher which causes Nautilus to crash on startup if you choose normal fonts (e.g. Arial). It seems that libfreetype6 is to blame for this, since they broke binary compatibility in their devel branch (which Debian Sid ships), and this broke a bunch of apps (Xft, Nautilus and Pango). Other than that, if you see GNOME-related crashes, please report them (install Bug-Buddy for more convenient bug reporting). Its your best bet for those crashes to be fixed. BTW - I ought to mention here the excellent work of Simon Mountagu, one of the BiDi maintainers in Mozilla, on a BiDi-related crasher I reported recently. I simply submitted a bug with a way to reproduce and a Talkback ID and had it solved in less than a week! BTW -- tip for all GNOME 2 testers. If you're unable to find the Window Manager settings in the UI, run gconf-editor, go to /desktop/gnome/applications/window_manager and set the 'default' and 'current' keys to your prefered window manager (New Key, Type: String, Key value: metacity -- for example) ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
