Usenix's magazine had an editorial a couple of months ago which they called "nomenclature" (I don't have it here, so I'm just paraphrasing now:) about what people mistakenly attribute to certain operating systems. For example saying "NASA uses Linux on space mission!" just because one of the people on the mission had Linux on his laptop. A similar falacy is to assume that because "the army is one of the biggest MS clients in Israel", that it somehow depends on Microsoft software for the mission-critical stuff. The army, as one of the biggest organization in Israel (if not the biggest) is filled with thousands of employees with desk-jobs, writing reports on MS-Word, making appointments in Outlook, playing games, writing emails, surfing the net, programming some non-critical stuff, and so on. I don't suppose that much the army's actual mission-critical software depends on Microsoft software. I'd be really surprised if missile guidance systems were running on top of Windows XP, or that consoles in tanks were running Windows 95 "because our fighters need to run MS-Word in Hebrew and play games!", or "the tank's weapon systems only have drivers for Windows!"... > Hetz (who has just been fired after Misrad Haotzar decided to do "kitzutzim" - > bastards).. So short a time after hiring you they suddenly remember to do cutbacks?
