Mandrake offered you to make a rescue disk during installation, did you
do it?

Put the Mandrake CD in the drive, and at the first prompt type: vmlinuz
root=<root device> ro[enter]

I can't tell you what you <root device> is because I don't know - it's
one of the paritions on your HD where you installed Mandrake. A good
guess would be /dev/hda5 or /dev/hda6 (that is the 1st or second logical
volumes in an extended parition on the primary IDE  drive) but it can be
other things as well. Just make a few tries with different values. When
you manage to boot, remember to run 'lilo' to restore the lilo MBR and
remember: friends don't let friend to do Windows ;-)
