Well, from the details you gave, it might be reasonable to assume that the problem is related to hardware cursor handling.. You did not state what driver you are using for X display... So the general advice would be to disable hardware cursor handling in your XF86Config and see if it helps in any way. I might be completely off, of course, but it's worth a shot.
